inktober2016This is the first time I have participated in the #inktober drawing prompt. I was trying to figure out a theme to give some continuity to the set of images. As I was sketching on 9/30, I picked up the two-pronged adapter next to my drawing table and traced it. I jotted a dozen ideas based on that shape, and figured I could come up with enough to cover 31 days!

The shape provides a common thread and enforces a similar scale for the images. I am using combinations of Daler-Rowney FW ink (sepia) and Liquitex ink (transparent siena). I use a #2 round brush for most of the line work, and a 1″ flat brush for the washes (which is a pretty big brush for this scale of image, but it keeps things loose).
