It seems like I have been doing a lot of drawin’ and paintin’ lately, but not enough postin’!  Here’s a sample illustration that I put together for the nice folks at Vanita Books, and it matches this week’s IF theme — what a bonus!

Raccoon Reading

This is an illustration of a cozy reading spot that I worked up from my sketchbook.  I chose a warm-colored background, and I used sepia/black ink washes to build up a dramatic lighting effect with just a couple of spot colors for accents.

Snow Monster

I was experimenting with some white/gray washes on colored paper and did this picture of a snow monster.
